Open House
Visit our facility and meet our animal ambassadors
Annual Baby Shower & Open House
Every year before rescue season begins, we open our facility to the public for one special day. It’s the only time of year you can tour the center, meet our education animals up close, and see where the work happens.
What to Expect
Facility Tours
Special behind-the-scenes tours conducted only at this time of year, before the big influx of baby animals during spring and summer season.
Education Animals
Get up close and personal with our education animals and visit our educational display table to learn about Northern California wildlife.
Kids Activities
Children can make gifts for wild birds, visit the face painting station, and browse nature books from local publishers. The first 75 children receive baby shower favors!
Bring a Baby Shower Gift
Visitors are encouraged to bring a “Baby Bird Shower” gift of paper towels, toilet paper, heating pads, food, and other supplies to help defray the cost of running the center during the year.
For gift suggestions, download our Baby Bird Shower Gift List (PDF) or visit our Amazon Wish List.
See our Membership and Donations page for additional ways to help.
Interested in Volunteering?
The Open House is a great opportunity to talk to our staff, meet our animals, and see our facilities. Our Volunteer Coordinator will be on hand to answer questions about getting involved.
Event Sponsorships
We encourage individuals and businesses to provide sponsorship support for this event. This helps offset staging costs so more of our funds go directly to wildlife rehabilitation. See our Membership and Donations page for details.
Thank you to our past sponsors including the City of Anderson, Red Tail Publishing, the Record Searchlight, and many generous community members.
